Fisrt week is done
Hey all how was the first week. Four more to go. I'm teaching classes Monday and Tuesday and I'm really looking forwards to Mondays class. Tuesdays not so much, the kids in Mondays class are attentive respectful and quiet. They are desperate for some kind of engagement from the teacher and I think I can ram a packed lesson on them without any hiccups. The kids in my grade 9 class which I'm teaching meiosis to on Tuesday afternoon are the opposite. Good kids over all but extremely rowdy. I have been advised to be boring, and direct teach for the whole period by a very liberal co-operating teacher. This group is very talented at hijacking classed and bringing leaning to a grinding halt. If any of you have some classroom management tricks up you sleeve, I could really use them. I'm really liking this experience, but I'm having trouble finding my place in the class room, especially a specific one. I wrote a lesson plan, made powerpoint and came up with a few cool things for the class to do relating the chemistry they are learning to current environmental issues. The teacher seems exited to let me teach. But doesn't even want to see any of my lesson planing for their class.??????? Any feedback guys? I hope You are all doing well and having a lot of fun. cause I am. hope to see you all soon.

My Ct could care about lesson plans to. As long as i know what i am doing for the day he really does not care.
ReplyDeleteOne of my CT's doesn't care about any lesson plans right now. We're just doing dance by the seat of our pants right now with the grade 9's. They seem to enjoy it so we just keep going with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that in my science class, I'll do it just for my own well being.
